Paul came to NZ in 1985 from Switzerland as a qualified Master Butcher and Small Goods Maker. In 1989 he opened his first butcher shop in Pt Chevalier then moved to Massey in West Auckland trading as “Swiss Royal Heights Butchery”.
As the demand of the commercial Small Goods side grew, Roberta and Paul made the business decision to close the butcher shop and relocate in 2007. The building was custom fitted for purpose to manufacture small goods.
Sam Betschart has been an integral part of the business team for more than a decade, working alongside his father in processing and production. Paul continues today to remain hands on, ensuring consistency and quality.
