Betscharts Ltd had its humble beginnings as a one-man Swiss Butchery operation founded in 1989.
Paul Betschart, a qualified Master Butcher & Small Goods Maker from Switzerland came to New Zealand in 1985. Equipped with his prized Swiss recipes, skills, and hard work. Paul opened his first Butcher Shop in Pt Chevalier, later moving to Massey West Auckland, his shop was well known as "Swiss Royal Heights Butchery".
After years of continuous strides Paul and Roberta were able to build a reputable Swiss and Continental Meats manufacturing facility in Albany, Betscharts Ltd. The premises is registered with MPI under a Custom Food Control Plan.
Family has been an integral part of the business with Paul and wife Roberta, working alongside Paul's son Sam in processing, production and overall business operations.
To this day, Paul continues to be hands on, ensuring adherence to high quality Swiss meats manufacturing standards.
